I built this paddle to try out myself. Many of you prefer shoulderless paddles, but I like the sure indexing a shoudler provides. This was my attempt to make a shoulderless paddle that still had a measure of the diamond shape at the root of the blades, which helps indexing. While I was successful, I still prefer a shouldered paddle, so after one brief test paddle, this is up for sale. You’ll notice the edge of a knot on one blade. It doesn’t go all the way through, and it doesn’t affect performance. The blades are marvelously thin near the tips (perhaps too thin?), but the paddle has wonderful balance and flex. “Argentinian Osage” (Maclura Tinctoria) is a very close cousin of North American Osage Orange. Satisfaction guaranteed just like the rest of my paddles.
